Learn to Brainstorm with A BulletMap

Sunday nights can be a flash point for families with dyslexic children. Their heads can overload with thought and concerns. How do you find out what’s going on in your child’s head to help them? Do they even know what’s going on in there? At BulletMap Studio we call dyslexic minds “zero-gravity workshops”. I explain it to kids with this video illustration. We have developed a little life transforming tool, it’s called a ‘SundayMap’. It’s something you can do as a mum to help your child cut through the confusion that builds up to a ‘Stress bomb’ on a Sunday.

The SundayMap is a reliable way to defuse it. Parents are loving it and so are the children. The child gets to mind dump and parents actually see what’s swirling around in there. No more interrogating them to find out what’s happening at school! No more Sunday night arguments and stress bomb explosions.

It’s a form of mind mapping we have developed. It works like this:

1. Mind dump into a bullet point list on the left of the page.

2. Sort it by mind mapping the keywords.

3. Decide what the next step is.

We call this a Bulletmap. There’s lots of them. This one’s name is SundayMap. You can learn it in 20 min.

The result? A happier child who appreciates how you helped them cut through the overwhelm and confusion.

"I'm not going to stop BulletMapping on a Sunday. It's amazing! It's given me a huge insight into my daughter's mind that I had no idea about. She's only 11, so moving forward, when it comes to exams and projects that she's going to have to hand in. I don't want it to happen at 10 o'clock on a Sunday night as you've said. It's going to happen after breakfast on a Sunday for us because that's the time we’re totally going to do our map. Life-changing is a bit of a strong word but actually, it's life-changing. It's made life so much easier and I feel reassured and comforted that all her worries get out and we can talk about it."
